La exposición El pensamiento es un jardín hibrido. El archivo Mariotti Luy (1964-2024) y la publicación que la acompaña son el resultado de una colaboración entre el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima y el Museo de Arte de Lima. Esta alianza se inscribe de manera natural en la voluntad que siempre animó a Francesco Mariotti y María Luy: propiciar el diálogo, la participación y el trabajo colectivo. Desde esta perspectiva, se reafirma la importancia de fortalecer redes de cooperación entre instituciones culturales que potencien el intercambio de saberes, recursos y miradas, entendiendo el arte y la cultura como factores esenciales para el desarrollo de la sensibilidad, el pensamiento crítico y la construcción de comunidad.
Este libro permite apreciar la rigurosa investigación desarrollada para la muestra por los curadores Jose-Carlos Mariátegui y Miguel López, quienes proponen una lectura profunda de los momentos más significativos de la producción artística y cultural de Mariotti y Luy. A través de documentos, registros, imágenes y obras, se revela un entramado en el que con fluyen creatividad, experimentación, investigación y gestión, dimensiones fundamentales de sus prácticas. Junto a los textos curatoriales, la publicación reúne una cuidada selección de ensayos y escritos -algunos reeditados- que abordan aspectos específicos de la amplia y diversa obra de ambos artistas, ampliando las claves para su comprensión.
The exhibition Thinking Is a Hybrid Garden. The Mariotti Luy Archive (1964-2024) and the publication that accompanies it are the result of a collaboration between the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima and the Museo de Arte de Lima. This alliance is naturally rooted in the goodwill that always motivated Francesco Mariotti and María Luy: to foster dialogue, participation, and collective work.
